About Me
My Health Journey in Martial Arts
I’ve been a keen martial artist my whole life – well, since I saw Bruce Lee’s ‘Enter The Dragon’ at 14 years old in 1973. I started White Eyebrow (Bak Mei) Kung Fu Training at 15 years old in Cambridge until my master passed way. I then trained in Wado Ryu and later Shotokan Karate. During the 1990’s, I also learned the Yang Style 24 Step Taijiquan and started studying and practicing Qigong.
Work then took precedence over regular class attendance, and during my mid-to-late working life, I had to retire from attending weekly classes and therefore gave up all but Tai Chi and Qigong – which accompanied me on my business travels.
Helping Others In To The Future
Now retired from work, I still actively train in – and have a passion for Tai Chi (both Yang Simplified and the Yang Traditional 103 Step Long Form);
Qigong (Ba Dua Jin, Yi Jin Jing, Wu Qin Xi and latterly Ma Wang Dui)
… and Wing Chun boxing.
The martial arts – but in particular, my Qigong training has contributed greatly to my personal health throughout my life, especially following spinal surgery a few years ago – and now I enjoy passing on my skills to others so that they may too enjoy good health.
